What is in this workbook?
This workbook has three sheets: Startup Budget Dashboard, Startup Operating Budget, and Setup. Startup Budget Dashboard is the quick-review surface, Startup Operating Budget is the editable working log, and Setup holds supporting inputs, reusable context, or working rules.
How the workflow and formulas work
Use Startup Operating Budget for budget line, runway or growth driver, revenue-or-expense type, owner, planned amount, actual amount, variance, signed actual, and cadence; use Setup for planning assumptions, review cadence, and safety rules. Startup Operating Budget calculates favorable variance differently for revenue and expense rows, and converts actual revenue to a positive signed amount and actual expense to a negative one. Startup Budget Dashboard links planned net, actual net, favorable variance, and Review counts, then calculates runway from the cash reserve in Setup divided by actual negative net spend.
How to use it in Griddy
Replace the sample values before sharing, then review the calculated Startup Budget Dashboard fields after editing the working log. The workbook includes a dropdown validation resource and a conditional-formatting resource for the relevant review or status fields.
