Getting Started — Microsoft Excel
Installation
- Open Excel on your computer or in your browser
- Go to the Insert tab and select "Office Add-ins"
- Search for "Griddy" in the AppSource store
- Click Add to install Griddy
- Once installed, you'll find Griddy in the Home tab
First Steps
- Click the Griddy button in the Home tab to open the sidebar
- Sign in or create a new account
- Select any cells in your spreadsheet
- Type your request in natural language (e.g., "sum these numbers" or "create a chart")
- Press Enter to see Griddy work its magic

Common Issues and Solutions
Griddy isn't responding to my commands
Check your internet connection and refresh the Excel window. If the issue persists, try signing out and back in.
I can't see the changes Griddy made
Make sure you've selected the correct range of cells and that you haven't accidentally frozen panes or hidden rows/columns.
The chart or formatting isn't what I expected
Try being more specific in your request. You can also use the undo button to revert changes and try again with a different phrasing.
I'm getting an error message
Most error messages include specific instructions to resolve the issue. If you're still stuck, contact our support team at will@getgriddy.ai.

How many prompts do I get with the free plan?
New users receive 6 free prompts to try out Griddy's features.
What's included in the paid plans?
Pro includes unlimited prompts and works across Griddy, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets. Team plans add centralized billing, admin features, and priority support.
Can I use Griddy offline?
Griddy requires an internet connection to process requests. If you lose connectivity, requests will fail and you can retry once you're back online.
Is my data secure?
Yes. We use encryption in transit and at rest. If you use the web app, saved spreadsheets are stored so you can reopen and share them. In Standard mode, AI interaction logs are retained up to 30 days and operational metadata up to 90 days. Privacy mode uses metadata-only logging.
Which versions of Excel are supported?
Griddy works with Excel on the web, Windows (Microsoft 365), and Mac (Microsoft 365). It requires the Office Add-ins platform.
