What is in this workbook?
This workbook has three sheets: Monthly Summary, Expense Log, and Category Guide. Monthly Summary is the quick-review surface, Expense Log is the editable working log, and Category Guide holds supporting inputs, reusable context, or working rules.
How the workflow and formulas work
Use Expense Log for date, vendor or project, category, planned amount, actual amount, calculated variance, payment method, receipt status, review flag, and notes; maintain tax or job flags and recurring rules in Category Guide. Variance is Actual minus Planned. Monthly Summary totals actual spend and variance, counts review lines, and uses SUMIF and COUNTIF formulas for category and vendor rollups.
How to use it in Griddy
Replace the sample values before sharing, then review the calculated Monthly Summary fields after editing the working log. The workbook includes a dropdown validation resource and a conditional-formatting resource for the relevant review or status fields.
Keep sensitive records out of the workbook
Use engagement codes and receipt references, not customer secrets or account credentials. Confirm tax treatment independently. This workbook is a planning aid and does not replace accounting, legal, HR, tax, or education-record systems.
